When I was young, I never thought of my body as “lowly” or as the KJV has it, “vile.” Really, I didn’t give it much thought at all. But now I am not young and my body is wearing out and my aches and pains have developed even more aches and pains, but thanks be to God, all of that is going to change when Jesus calls me to my forever home.

We must act in a manner that exalts the King of heaven and not according to the styles and pattern of this world. If we don’t, do we become “enemies of the cross of Christ?” Just asking.

He also remembers that His “compassion” fails not.  Compassion is love applied to the hurting rather than sympathy which is feeling sorry but doing nothing about the pain and suffering of others. Faithfulness is always being there and always being true to one’s word.  Over and over again the Word proclaims that God is faithful.  Literally, He never changes so His Word to us never changes—it is always true.

In the midst of troubles and trials because the genuineness of your faith is tested. Peter wrote that even then your faith is more precious than gold even though it is sometimes tested by fire. To whom is your faith precious? Is it not precious to the one who has it and is it not precious to the One who gives it? Is it not above word?

Your faith (and mine) in Christ Jesus should have a profound effect on us and because the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls. It is through your faith in the finished work of Christ and the confession of your faith that have resulted in your name being penned in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Are you saved? That was a question that was asked of us when I was young. I knew exactly what was meant by that question. It meant, “Have you confessed your sins and asked Jesus into your heart?” Nowadays if you asked someone if they are saved, they might wonder what you are talking about.
