Inheritance Incorruptible

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory,
1 Peter 1:6-8 (NKJV).

Greetings on this beautiful day. It is my prayer you will be blessed beyond measure and that you will sense the nearness of God as you go about your daily activities. Now, to today’s Word.

Peter writes, “In this you greatly rejoice.” The words, “In this” look back to what has already been written. In the fact that you have an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, you are protected by the power of God through faith for salvation.

In the midst of troubles and trials because the genuineness of your faith is tested. Peter wrote that even then your faith is more precious than gold even though it is sometimes tested by fire. To whom is your faith precious? Is it not precious to the one who has it and is it not precious to the One who gives it? Is it not above word?

If your faith holds on to Christ Jesus, the Rock of your salvation then when Jesus is revealed in glory it will be praise, glory and honor to you. Imagine when Jesus says to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of your Lord.”

Your faith is proven because you continue to love the Lord with all your heart even though you have never seen Him and you continue to believe in Him and His wonderful words to you.

Even now you can rejoice in Him and as you do your joy will become so great that you will not be able to contain it. You will rejoice with “joy unspeakable and full of glory.” That can happen anywhere and at any-time. So, wherever you are today, go ahead and rejoice in the Lord. Amen and amen.

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?
