What would you do if you heard an audible voice call your name and that voice turned out to be the voice of God? What are you going to do when God speaks into your spirit and gives you directions about certain things in your life? Will you listen and obey, or will you shrug it off as your imagination?

Did you know that that the word “stable” is not found in association with the location of the newborn Jesus? The Scripture says that when Jesus was born, Mary wrapped Him in swaddling (cloths for wrapping newborn babies) and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for him in the inn.

All too often people listen to the wrong directions rather than listening to God through His Word. There are so many voices that are clamoring for attention. So many who are wanting to gain a following that they are willing to say almost anything if it will bring attention to themselves.

What about the secret “faults?” Secret faults are those “errors” or sins that we try to hide from everyone else. The only way to deal with the secret sins is to confess them to God and ask for His forgiveness. He already knows all about them because He knows all things so to keep ourselves from move from “errors” to secret “faults or sins” and we must stop them through true repentance.

Some time ago I was at the pickup window of a fast-food restaurant and as it was the week of Thanksgiving, I asked the girl in the window where she was going to have her Thanksgiving meal. Her curt reply was, “We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.” My curt response to her curt reply was, “Why, don’t you have anything to be thankful for!?”

Have you ever suffered the dreaded “foot in mouth” disease? I sure have. All too many times I have had to eat my words and believe me they were tough to chew, bitter to the taste and were hard to digest. I have said words that I immediately wished I had not said. So, if you insist on putting your foot in you mouth it is recommended that you take your shoes and socks off first and by all means, watch your step. Just a thought.
