When He followed the ruler to his house a crowd of people followed along with Him. If we could imagine the scene it would probably have been chaotic with all the people crowded around Him. No doubt there was a lot of chatter among the people as they excitedly walked to see what would happen at the ruler’s house.

That Jesus called such a notorious person into his circle of disciples certainly must have shocked the other disciples, as well as the crowd that followed Jesus.

There were beautiful orange trees growing along the street in one of the towns west of Phoenix. They were there, free for the picking; but when they were peeled and tasted they were bitter.  They were decorative oranges.  They still are grown in many different places but my Dad never made that mistake again. They look good but there is no sweetness in them.

I don’t know what would have happened if Jesus had turned the stones into steaming hot, out of the oven, fresh bread. Satan probably would have wanted butter and honey to spread on it; for with Satan enough is never enough.

Have you ever, intentionally, interjected yourself into someone else’s disputes? Policemen (please pray for them) have found that the most dangerous situations that they have to go into is family fights. The tempers of both spouses are already red hot and when one is about to arrested for domestic violence the other spouse will turn on them.

Just a few weeks ago, my wife and I went to our favorite steak house and ordered our favorite steak only to find out that they were out of it. Now, due to Covid-19, they have dropped it completely from their menu. Bummer. I mean, when you have your taste buds set for something not much else will do. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?!
