Channel Surfing

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the traps of the enemy and from the perilous diseases.
Psalm 91:1-3

Are you worrying about all of the stuff that is happening all around you? Do your worries paralyze you and keep you from leaving your house and enjoying the things that you once enjoyed? Or, have you developed the attitude that prevailed in the days of Noah; “Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die?” More to the point; do you fear Covid?

While involved in one of my daily activities (Channel surfing) yesterday I noticed that the football stadiums were filled to capacity and I didn’t see a single person wearing a mask. Somewhere along the way they must have laid aside their fears to support their favorite teams. Today it will be the same for professional sports. Do you think that all those people have been inoculated? Do you think that all those people are trusting in God to keep them safe? Just asking.

Do you believe God’s Word for yourself? Is he really your refuge and your strong fortress? If He is then what do you have to fear? What is there that God cannot protect us from? Do we think that He is not aware of our situations?

Friend, God knows and He will not fail you. Some good folks that we know have died and the cause of their death was attributed to Covid. Was their death out of the plan of God? Did God not protect them? Was He not their refuge and their fortress? Of course, He was and they are now in His presence forevermore, never to suffer pain and sickness again.

The end of this life is not the end of life but the beginning of life that will never end. So what do we do? Should we not continue to do the things that are holy and righteous and trust the Lord to be with us and care for us in all things. YES! Amen and amen.

For The Living

He also remembers that His “compassion” fails not.  Compassion is love applied to the hurting rather than sympathy which is feeling sorry but doing nothing about the pain and suffering of others. Faithfulness is always being there and always being true to one’s word.  Over and over again the Word proclaims that God is faithful.  Literally, He never changes so His Word to us never changes—it is always true.

Inheritance Incorruptible

In the midst of troubles and trials because the genuineness of your faith is tested. Peter wrote that even then your faith is more precious than gold even though it is sometimes tested by fire. To whom is your faith precious? Is it not precious to the one who has it and is it not precious to the One who gives it? Is it not above word?

The Vision

Your faith (and mine) in Christ Jesus should have a profound effect on us and because the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls. It is through your faith in the finished work of Christ and the confession of your faith that have resulted in your name being penned in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
