Dying Of Thirst

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall you draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall you say, Praise the LORD, call upon His Name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His Name is exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for He has done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst.
Isaiah 12:2-6

Don’t you like the positive way that Isaiah writes the words above? He begins with the words, “God is my salvation.” He is not looking for another means of salvation because God is his salvation. He is not looking toward the strength of an army; the wisdom of a king, a prophet; or anything else—God is and God is his salvation and the One in whom he trusts; his strength and his reason to sing the joyful songs.

If God is all that to you, you shall drink water from the wells of salvation. As you know, without water to drink, one dies. People died trying to cross “Death Valley” in the summertime because they didn’t have enough water, but all the while there is a raging river of water underground and it was under their feet all the while. They didn’t know and did not have the means to get to it. But you can draw water from the wells of salvation at any time and all the time for the Holy Spirit is the “well of water that is springing up” in you. Jesus gave you that “Well.” So, go ahead and shout the victory for “great is the holy One of Israel in the midst of you. Jesus is all you need so shout.

Will Thompson wrote a song that blesses me. It goes: “Jesus is all the world to me; my life, my joy, my all. He is my strength from day to day, without Him I would fall. When I am sad to Him, I go; no other one can cheer me so; when I am sad, he makes me glad, He’s my friend.”

So, look again to Jesus. Whatever your trial, He is your best friend. The “well” is full of cool, refreshing water so go ahead, put your bucket in and fill it up and drink. God promises you that you will be blessed. Amen, amen and amen

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?

It’s Not All “Hunky-Dory”

If you read on in this Psalm you will find that not all was hunky-dory will David. As usual he was facing some enemy and he was pleading his cause before the LORD. But in the midst of his trials, he was determined to praise and worship the LORD.
