In the Beginning God…

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matthew 1:21.

Paul wrote: It was “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:5-7

Take Time to Remember

As you begin your Lord’s Day preparation, take time to remember that Name that is above every name—the Name of Jesus. A heavenly messenger instructed Joseph and Mary to name the first and only one born from heaven—JESUS. His name means Savior and/or Deliverer. As you speak out or sing out His Name, do so with your deepest and most sincere worship. Peter said, “There is no other Name, under heaven, whereby we must (and can) be saved.” According to Paul’s words to Titus all that we need in this life, every blessing that brings life and peace with God comes through Jesus Christ our Savior. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, the mercy of God has been extended to us. We are saved through Him. Our sins are washed away through Him. The renewing of the Holy Ghost is through Him. We are justified by His grace through Him. We are made the heirs of God through Him, and we have the hope of eternal life through Him.

His Name is JESUS. Speak His name with reverence, love and joy. He is the Savior of the world. All can be saved who will believe His Name. In the words of a preacher friend of mine: CALL HIS NAME JESUS! AMEN, AMEN AND AMEN!

For The Living

He also remembers that His “compassion” fails not.  Compassion is love applied to the hurting rather than sympathy which is feeling sorry but doing nothing about the pain and suffering of others. Faithfulness is always being there and always being true to one’s word.  Over and over again the Word proclaims that God is faithful.  Literally, He never changes so His Word to us never changes—it is always true.

Inheritance Incorruptible

In the midst of troubles and trials because the genuineness of your faith is tested. Peter wrote that even then your faith is more precious than gold even though it is sometimes tested by fire. To whom is your faith precious? Is it not precious to the one who has it and is it not precious to the One who gives it? Is it not above word?

The Vision

Your faith (and mine) in Christ Jesus should have a profound effect on us and because the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls. It is through your faith in the finished work of Christ and the confession of your faith that have resulted in your name being penned in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
