Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD He is God: it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations.
Psalm 100:1-5

Where did the joy go? It seems that the world is angry and they will never be happy again. They bury their sorrows in all sorts of drugs, prescription and otherwise, just to make it through another day. There are even some believers who find themselves dreading the night and when the morning comes, they hate the day. Friend, this ought not be; we should be the most joyful people on the face of the earth.

There is a Christmas carol that we should, perhaps sing to ourselves at the dawning of every day. It says, “Joy to the world, the Lord has come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart, prepare Him room; let heaven and nature sing, let heaven and nature sing.”

Our Reconciliation

Let us rejoice that we are His people, well cared for and fed like the best of the best in this world and in the world to come. We are the height of His creation. We are the children of the King. Jesus did not die on a cross for angels, the animals or the natural world; He came to die to redeem us and to reconcile us to God.

Sing it like this, “Joy be to me the Lord has come. I have received my King. This heart of mine has prepared Him room so heaven and earth rejoice, so heaven and earth rejoice with, for I am His forevermore.”

Well, you get the idea (I digress). Sing because you are joyful and you are joyful because you are the blessed of the Lord. Amen?

For The Living

He also remembers that His “compassion” fails not.  Compassion is love applied to the hurting rather than sympathy which is feeling sorry but doing nothing about the pain and suffering of others. Faithfulness is always being there and always being true to one’s word.  Over and over again the Word proclaims that God is faithful.  Literally, He never changes so His Word to us never changes—it is always true.

Inheritance Incorruptible

In the midst of troubles and trials because the genuineness of your faith is tested. Peter wrote that even then your faith is more precious than gold even though it is sometimes tested by fire. To whom is your faith precious? Is it not precious to the one who has it and is it not precious to the One who gives it? Is it not above word?

The Vision

Your faith (and mine) in Christ Jesus should have a profound effect on us and because the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls. It is through your faith in the finished work of Christ and the confession of your faith that have resulted in your name being penned in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
