Not Just Whistling Dixie

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Matthew 1:22-23

God did not come for a visit or for a vacation, He came to stay. He also, did not come to earth to condemn us, He came to provide salvation and give us life. They shall call His name “Immanuel,” He is with us and He is for us.

Jesus said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” That is His promise to you, right now and forever. Since He is with you right now, you can be assured that He will supply your every need.

Do you need food on your table? Get ready to cook for the beans and rice are on the way. Do you need healing for your sore and achy joints? The “balm of Gilead” is with you. Are you confused by the myriad of voices spouting off? There is One who will not confuse you and that is Jesus. For He has the “words of eternal life.”

Jesus Is With Us

When the angel announced that they will call His name Immanuel he was not just whistling Dixie. Jesus is with us. He is with us in the most powerful and glorious way. Pray that God will help you to recognize His wonderful in your life today and every day.

This little song says it so well: “He is here, hallelujah, He is here, amen. He is here, holy, holy. I will praise His Name again. He is here, listen to Him, He is calling out your name. He is here, you can touch Him, and you will never be never be the same.” Friend, He is with you right now through the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?

It’s Not All “Hunky-Dory”

If you read on in this Psalm you will find that not all was hunky-dory will David. As usual he was facing some enemy and he was pleading his cause before the LORD. But in the midst of his trials, he was determined to praise and worship the LORD.
