Some Strange And Crazy Old Man

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

How happy are those whose way is blameless, who live according to the LORD’s instruction! Happy are those who keep His decrees and seek Him with all their heart. They do nothing wrong; they follow His ways. You have commanded that Your precepts be diligently kept. If only my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed when I think about all Your commands.
Psalm 119:1-6 (HCSB)

Those who live a true Christian life are belittled, laughed at and thought to be fools by today’s carnal, humanistic society. Such is not the case with God who inspired this Psalm. To the contrary, He said that the believer is “blessed” because he walks in the “way” of righteousness and one who walks in the law of the LORD.

If you ever feel intimidated by those who live like there is no God and therefore no judgment, take heart because the Word of God is truth and there is a payday someday. The unbelieving sinners will receive their wages. They will receive their full wages. “The wages of sin is death.”

We may find ourselves envious of the prosperity of the wicked if we take our eyes off of the prize. The Psalmist did “Until he went into the sanctuary of God; then he understood their end.” Psalm 73:17

Consider the world that Noah lived in; they were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the Ark. They did the very same thing that this generation is doing—they believed that Noah was some strange and crazy old man. They were not destroyed by flood because they did not know because Noah was a preacher of righteousness but they did not believe him. They said it has never flooded so it can’t flood. Jesus said in Luke 17:26 “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” It is happening again.

Truly, each person who lives the “undefiled” life is blessed. They are blessed in “here and now” and they will be blessed in “eternity.” But how does one do that in such a spiritually contaminated world? That seems to be what the Psalmist prayed: “O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.” So, it must be with us. We must not just talk the talk of a pure Christian life, we must walk the walk. Then we will be blessed. Then we will not concern ourselves with the prosperity of the wicked but will be overjoyed while we walk in the precepts of the Lord. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can live to please the LORD. Believe it and be blessed. Amen and amen

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?
