The Four Seasons

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when its branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: so likewise, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. It is absolutely true what I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour know, no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Matthew 24:32-36

No matter how strong your temptation may be, as to the return of Christ, DON’T SET DATES. People have been doing so ever since He ascended back to the heavenly Father. They were all wrong and they still are. But Jesus did give us a hint that His coming could be near.

Where There Are Four Seasons…

In areas of the world where there are four seasons (not in Phoenix) there is a summer, fall, winter and spring. When I lived where there are four seasons, my favorite season was spring, fall was okay but spring was the best. The snow would melt away, the grass would green up, the trees would dress up in their spring green, the flowers would burst open with color and the birds would sing again. Even I knew when spring came.

If any believer is attuned to the Spirit of God, he/she will sense that something big is about to happen. It doesn’t take a genius or some super spiritual person to know spiritual things; just someone who is listening to the still small voice of God. Jesus said, when you see all these things happening, you can know that His coming is near. You can know because the words of Jesus will never fail. He said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall never pass away” or fail—they will be fulfilled.

Knowing that one cannot know the day or the hour when Jesus will come again, there is only one thing that we must do, we must remain faithful. Someone asked the great evangelist, D. L. Moody, what he would do if he knew that Jesus would come that day. He answered, exactly what I am now doing.” He was doing the Lord’s work and he needed to change nothing. Let us be doing the same. Amen?

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?

It’s Not All “Hunky-Dory”

If you read on in this Psalm you will find that not all was hunky-dory will David. As usual he was facing some enemy and he was pleading his cause before the LORD. But in the midst of his trials, he was determined to praise and worship the LORD.
