Watching The Pomp And Ceremony

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith He hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from eternity: You are from everlasting.
Psalm 93:1-2

It is not possible for me to fathom God. I can understand some of what He does but with the limited ability of my mind and the limits of my lifespan I cannot comprehend eternity or God who has no beginning or ending.

The Psalmist matter-of-factly proclaims, the LORD reigns. That means that no one can, may, or should question His authority. He does as He wills to do without consultation from His creation.

He is clothed in majesty. Perhaps we can imagine this best by watching the pomp and ceremony of the Queen of England when she is decked out in the finest of her robes and crown. Imagine when you see God for the first time what a spectacle that will be.

He is also clothed in strength which He wears because of Who He is not because someone has proclaimed Him to be so. Clothing in the Old Testament was considered an extension of a person; so, the expression robed in majesty describes the Lord as majestic and powerful in His reign. His strength is innate, that is it is of Himself. It was not gained; it always was and it always will be.

By His own power and Word, the world is hung on nothing and it is established and will be as long as He wants it to be. It cannot be moved out of its orbit or its rotation slowed. Man makes his claims but God controls this earth and the rest of the planets and moons and stars. God is in control.

His throne is established and will never be relinquished. Man would set himself on the throne of God if he could but that ain’t going to happen. God is eternal. He will always be God. He is worthy of praise and worship and He will be worshiped forever. Let his praise and worship be the occupation of our hearts today and forevermore. He is God. Yes He Is, Amen and amen.

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?
