When God Makes All Things New

Article written by Brother Bledsoe

And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, write: for these words are true and faithful. And He said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Revelation 21:5-7

I can’t speak for you, but I like new things. Whether it is a new car or a new set of golf clubs (don’t judge me), or new recliner. As far as I am concerned, if it is broken, old or dilapidated, get rid of it. I am glad that God or my wife doesn’t feel that way about me.

I think God must like new things because He said to John, “I make all things new.” In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Paul wrote,

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

So, you are new.

Walking in Perfection

When God makes all things new, He will make everything perfect and pristine. Imagine yourself walking on an earth that is perfect in every way. In the New Jerusalem, the river that flows in it is totally clear and free of pollutants. The trees will produce fruit all year long and their leaves will be for the healing of the nations. All who are permitted there will drink freely from the fountain of life.

All who have started the journey of faith in Christ and who persevere unto the end will inherit all things and God will be their God and they shall be His children. Romans 8:16-17 says,

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

Do you like new things? You better because God is going to make all things new. Even you will have a new body. Think about that.

Rewind Your Brain

Do you worry about anything and everything? Do you expect bad things to happen to you? Do you listen to the doubters, skeptics and unbelievers more than you listen to God? If you answered yes to any one of these questions you need to stop, rewind your brain all the way back to the time that you knelt in prayer, confessed your sins and received Christ into your heart; because at that moment in time you knew that God had forgiven you and that He would bless and keep you.

I Will

Throughout the Bible God gives us His promises and relates them to us by saying “I will” do this or that and most of the time they come with the condition by The Lord saying, “if” we will keep His Word and be obedient. In the Psalms the writer states, “I will,” do such and such but never seems to put a condition on God. We are to do what is right even when God does not bless us for doing so, don’t you think?
